The Keyword search facility is a very usefull tool.
By listing certain "Keywords" in your Keyword search directory e.g the word Missing if you are interested in missing colour errors, everytime an item is listed with the word "Missing" in the title an email will be sent to you as soon as item is listed.
This email will contain a link that takes you directly to that item. In this way you can create an electronic "wants" list, and also avoid the need to have to search the site regularly manually looking to see if items of interest have been listed. There is also less chance of you missing items that may be of interest.
To mark the launch of GB-StampAuctions.com and to encourage those interested in trialing the sites selling features to do so, there will be an introductory rate of £1 for the "Seller Verification" fee. Also during the introductory period I will credit your £1 verification fee to your account.
Formal advertising in the philatelic press will commence in February.
The site will also be promoted through my other websites and through my Twitter account @GBPhilately
GB-Stamp Auctions is owned and operated by Ian Lasok-Smith a member of the PTS.
GB Stamp Auctions is being launched and will be advertised in philatelic press over the coming months commencing in February.
It will retain all it's functionality and will offer all those features found on the major "household" name sites plus more.
The site is specifically designed to cater for those discerning collectors of fine GB Postage Stamps and related material who wish to dispose of similar material and who may wish to avoid the high selling fees and commisions charged by other organisations and who have the time and the wherewithall to access the internet for this purpose. It also allows sellers to retain possession of their material up to point of sale and ensures payment is received at time of sale.
Although offering much of the functionality of the household name sites it is not intended to compete with such and it is accepted that some may prefer to pay the fees these other sites charge to gain a wider audience. In time it is hoped that the specialised nature of the site and the superior quality of material offered will attract an increasing and loyal following.
A brief summary of some of the sites features:
-a variety of selling options (auction, dutch auction, first bidder auction, buy it now)
-swap option
-multiple images for each item
-NO listing fees irrespective of value of item
-NO sales commission (final value fee) irrespective of value of item
-NO relisting fee
-NO reserve price fee
-NO fee for images
-NO fee for creating your own store on the site for up to 500 items, enabling sellers to create their own "brand"
The only fee payable will be a nominal monthly fee for sellers (Seller verification fee). This fee will provide access to the full functionality of the site including full invoicing facility and if required the secure online payment facilities offering paypal and a range of other secure payment providers.
The fee need only be made for those months seller wishes to sell items i.e if a seller wishes to take a break when current monthly verification fee expires they need only pay further fee when they wish to recommence selling through the site.
Although primarily aimed at providing a facility for collectors to offer material to a specialist target audience, members of the Philatelic Trade are welcome to use the sites facilities on the same terms and conditions.
In order to retain and promote the reputation for offering only fine quality material the site operator retains the right to remove any items deemed to detract from this ideal. The quality of an item in this context is determined not by it's value, which might be very low, but by it's physical condition.
